End Mills for Steel & Stainless
Steel needs a different cutter from aluminium: more flutes for a stronger core and finer finish, and a heat-resistant coating so the edge survives the cutting temperatures. These are TiSiN coated solid carbide end mills rated to HRC55, which covers mild steel, alloy steel, stainless, cast iron and pre-hardened tool steel.
- 4 flute spiral for side milling and light slotting, 2 flute spiral where you need chip room in a slot.
- 4 flute rougher to hog material before a finishing pass.
- TiSiN ball nose for 3D work, 90° chamfer for spotting and deburring, corner rounding mills.
On a CNC router, keep steel cuts light and rigid: small diameters, shallow depth, flood or mist coolant, and the shortest stickout you can manage.
