Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is the longest-lasting cutting edge you can put on a router bit. It is the standard for production nesting of MDF, particleboard, laminated and melamine-faced panels, where the abrasive resin binder blunts a carbide tool in a matter of hours. A PCD straight bit will typically outlast carbide many times over in these materials, which is why it earns its price on a machine that runs all day.
These CARBiTOOL PCD bits are Australian made, with sheer-angle diamond tips and open flutes for chip clearance. Keep them for board materials: PCD is brittle and should not be used in solid timber with knots, or in anything with metal fixings.
