Aluminium composite panel (ACM, ACP, Dibond and similar) is folded by routing a V groove through the back skin and most of the core, leaving the front skin intact to act as the hinge. A panel folding V bit is ground to the exact angle needed so the two faces meet cleanly when folded, giving a crisp corner without cracking the face sheet.
Pick the angle to suit the fold: 90° for a square box corner, 108°, 120° and 135° for shallower bends and angled returns. The 2.28mm tip width leaves the right amount of core for a clean radius.
A panel folding V bit is specifically design to cut aluminium composite panels to allow for easy bending without cracking. Bending with a clean radius is achieved buy routing 0.8mm above the bottom of the material.
All sizes are on a 6.35mm (1/4") shank, with a 6mm shank option for 90°. Pair with a 1 flute down cut for the through-cuts and you have a complete ACM signage toolkit.
