2 Flute STRAIGHT cutter carbide CNC router bit is a popular choice among "decor warriors" who work with MDF and plywood. These mills have straight blades that make them suitable for cutting a variety of timber materials, such as plywood, melamine chipboard, whiteboard, and veneers. They are also cost-effective compared to other types of end mills, like down and compression cutters, and provide a good finish on both sides of the material. Clean up is easy, just a little brush is needed to remove any residual burrs. The disadvantage is that due to the straight geometry, they may dull more quickly than other end mill types. Popular sizes include 1mm diameter for 3mm material, 1.5mm for 6mm, 2mm for 17mm and 1/8" for 18mm material.

Suitable for

  • Wood (MDF, hardwood)
  • Wood (Ply & softwoods)

Adam’s Tips

A straight flute end mill is a useful tool for cutting a variety of materials, but it does create a significant amount of dust as opposed to chips. Therefore, it is important to have proper ventilation or dust extraction in place to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. One benefit of this dust is that it gets packed back into the slot made by the end mill, which can help to hold the material in place. This eliminates the need to use tabs or tape to secure the material and can save time on handling. However, it's also important to keep in mind that the dust created is fine particulates which can be harmful to health, it's highly recommend to make sure the dust created is disposed off properly and safely.

Couldn't recommend the bits enough. I put them to strong work and they usually dull before breaking. A solid product!
